All Blocks holds meetings once a month. These are always on a Thursday evening after work, and, more recently also quartely on a Sunday afternoon – this is to allow as many members as possible to attend our meetings over the course of the year, given people’s various different work/life commitments.
Our meetings feature a variety of activities and we like to try and keep the meetings hands-on and informal. Obviously, since everyone just wants to play with bricks, we do various build challenges, speed builds, blind builds, and mini competitions. At our AGM or end-of-year meeting, we usually do a yearly quiz. We also plan and discuss upcoming events, as well as talk about past ones (including how we can improve for future occasions). And, in between, we generally talk about all things LEGO®.

We regularly put on shows across Auckland – these range in size depending on the location and reason for the event.

The aim of many of our events is to help the community. In particular, over the years, we have helped primary schools fundraise thousands of dollars towards costly school expenses/renovations/school trips.

Recently, for a couple of years, International Star Wars Day – May 4th – fell on a weekend, during which we participated in the celebrations by joining with the Auckland Stardome to put on a special Star Wars-only themed LEGO® models show for all to enjoy.
And we also participated in a special slot on a breakfast TV show – celebrating May 4th.
May the fourth be with you!
Since 2023, we have also been spreading the word about LEGO® to an even wider audience, as we’ve been part of Funfest. Funfest is a 5-day yearly community event, held in January in the Due Drop Events Centre in Manukau – each year we’ve had about 50K+ people come look at our display! This is the longest continuous brick show in the country.

Aside from events and other activities, we also love to help each other out with LEGO® parts queries/needs, how to build something, storage solutions, or just if you want/need to know anything about LEGO®! Impromtu LEGO® set reviews do also feature regularly.
And, of course, if someone has a query that they want to ask directly to The LEGO Group, the LUG Ambassador can pass on this through the LEGO® Ambassador Network and/or they can put the query up for an open discussion amongst other ambassadors/communities from around the world.
Everyone is welcome to join in on the fun at All Blocks!
