All Blocks first show – Newsletter

Hi All,

The time is counting down to All Blocks first show next weekend on Sunday 19 August. I am really excited that All Blocks will finally be visible to the public.

Floor Plan

During the All Blocks meeting last Thursday we were able to accommodate everyone’s display requests (based on the information on the Google Sheet) on the floor plan.

Four tables have been allocated for Star Wars models so if you are bringing along Star Wars sets, these will be consolidated in this one area. We want to avoid double-ups of these sets if at all possible.

The floor plan will be ready in a few days.

Hall Access

The hall will be open between 2 to 6pm Saturday. The tables and table cloths will be set up and some people will want to set up their displays on Saturday.

The hall will be open again from 6am Sunday for those people who will be setting up on the day.

Set up needs to be completed by 9:30am Sunday.

T Shirts

The T-shirts will be ready on Wednesday and will be distributed to members on Saturday or Sunday before the show opens.

Name Bricks

There are already name bricks for many people that were produced for the earlier (cancelled) Auckland Museum show. The few additional name bricks will arrive tomorrow. The new name bricks have been printed by RicsBricks based in Nelson.

I want to support this local business so have a look at RicsBricks website.

Buckets of LEGO

I have been in touch with LEGO New Zealand. Three big bins (officially called Brick Barrels) will be delivered later in the week. These will be used for freestyle LEGO building on the hall’s stage.

LEGO competitions

Toyworld Henderson have provided five prizes: four $50 vouchers for the building competition and one $100 voucher for an exit feedback poll.

Members of the public will go into a draw for the $100 voucher by filling out a show feedback form as they leave the show.

Social Media

Please share this event on your Social Media.

I am looking for someone to manage/monitor social media for this event. Please let me know ASAP if you have skills in this area.

I want to maximise our social media profile over the weekend.

Helensville Primary School

The School’s address is 9 Rata Street, Helensville 0800.

The hall carpark is at 1 Makiri Street. Click here for Street View.

It’s about 35 minutes from the Waterview motorway interchange or Constellation Drive.

  • If you are coming from the city, take the North Western Motorway (SH16) to Kumeu and continue driving to Helensville.
  • If you are coming from the North Shore, it could be easier to drive to Silverdale and take the Kahikatea Flat Road and then turn south at Kaukapakapa, onto the Kaipara Coast Highway (SH16).

Use the map below to get directions.

I am really looking forward to this event. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks for your help,

David Wardle
